Organic photostimulated luminescence associated with persistent spin-correlated radical pairs

چکیده

Abstract Photostimulated luminescence allows energy or data to be stored and released using electromagnetic waves as both the input output, has attracted considerable interest in fields of biomedical information technologies. However, this phenomenon is mostly limited solid inorganic materials. Here, we report photostimulated from purely organic blend films, composed electron donor, acceptor, trap/emitter molecules. Charges films are accumulated radical ions by ultraviolet light irradiation then extracted near-infrared irradiation. Even after storage dark for one week they produce visible with good repeatability, color tunability, responsive weak external magnetic fields. These findings might broadly impact existing applications provide new prospects innovative flexible devices.

Photostimulated Luminescence and Thermoluminescence of LSO Scintillators

Photostimulated luminescence (PSL) and thermoluminescence (TL) from five L~2(1-~)Ce2~(Si04)0 &SO) crystals with different light outputs is reported. Optical irradiation into the Ce3+ absorption bands causes the appearance of a broad absorption band near 280 nm which is ascribed to Ce4+. In addition, a tail is observed extending beyond 700 nm. Optical irradiation into this tail (PSL) or heating ...

Irradiated Shellfish: Identification by Photostimulated Luminescence

The irradiation of food is a technology used in the industry to prevent the deterioration of foodstuff in some countries. The European Community legislation states that each Member State must carry out annual checks on the products during commercialisation. The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle regioni Lazio e Toscana (Rome, Italy) has developed and validated the screening method of p...

Photostimulated near-infrared persistent luminescence as a new optical read-out from Cr3+-doped LiGa5O8

In conventional photostimulable storage phosphors, the optical information written by x-ray or ultraviolet irradiation is usually read out as a visible photostimulated luminescence (PSL) signal under the stimulation of a low-energy light with appropriate wavelength. Unlike the transient PSL, here we report a new optical read-out form, photostimulated persistent luminescence (PSPL) in the near-i...

The spin-correlated radical pair as a reaction intermediate

The concept of the spin-correlated radical pair has been used for some time in the interpretation of the results of magnetic polarization experiments in NMR and in ESR (CIDNP and CIDEP), and of the effects of magnetic fields on chemical reactions. It has, however, a much wider general significance as a reaction intermediate in all radical reactions, including photochemistry. Here the nature of ...

Controlling the orientation of spin-correlated radical pairs by covalent linkage to nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide membranes.

Ordered multi-spin assemblies are required for developing solid-state molecule-based spintronics. A linear donor-chromophore-acceptor (D-C-A) molecule was covalently attached inside the 150 nm diam. nanopores of an anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membrane. Photoexcitation of D-C-A in a 343 mT magnetic field results in sub-nanosecond, two-step electron transfer to yield the spin-correlated radical i...
